Ten Blog Writing Tips. When I first started out blogging, a decent post would take me about two – three days of work and procrastination, now it takes me only 2-3 hours.

You can’t write a realistic fiction and fantasy novel at the same time. General: 1. Develop an idea you’re enthusiastic about. Enthusiasm keeps you going when the going gets tough, and it's contagiousyour reader/listener will get it from the book/music 2. Schedule regular writing time, even if it's only an hour a day. Sticking to a schedule fosters creativity and gets the book finished. 3. Use writing time for writing. Think or plan while you walk the dog, ride the subway or bus, drive to work or do the dishes. 4. Don't try to edit as you go. It's counterproductive. Instead, keep notes on changes that occur to you and mark the spot with something distinctive, such as *** so you can find it easily later. 5. Set a specific time to do any editing you can't live without: the end of your working period, Monday morning before you start work, or any other time outside your daily writing schedule that works for you. If you can hold most editing until your first draft is finished, you'll be able to see everything in perspective and do a better job of editing. 6. Be cautious about reading your work to others or asking them to read it and comment. There are 2 kinds of comment: valid criticism and reader reaction. Both are valuable, but be sure you take into account the person's background and degree of expertise in writing fiction. Don't let your work get nit-picked to death. Fantasy: Don't: Reference Earth – don’t refer to anything on Earth unless it's an urban fantasy Do: Put thought into your fantasy races – You need to separate one race from the other and make the things that separate them, distinctive. Don't: Combine Every Creature Imaginable Into One Monstrous Chimera of a Character – it’s not a good idea to combine several fantasy races to make your character. For example, a half-phoenix-catgirl-dragon-mermaid-vamp with psychic powers and angel wings. Do: Put thought into the use of Magic – Magic needs rules and boundaries. They also need a logical reason of how they can work. Don't: Show an Uncharacteristic Level of Technological Advancement – Remember a few things when writing about a world with medieval technology: no plumbing, no sanitation, flat-out stupid medical practices.

What is the best way to write a story? I’ve a blog with tons of writing tips, but I don't think you want to sift through every single post on a 13 year-old's blog. Here are some of them: ~Dont just stick to writing novels, write poetry, screen plays, movies, tv shows, biographies, etc! ~Buy your self a notebook for each of your novels, 3 subjects works well, and 2 subject also do too. Section one will be for characters, section 2 for the outline, and section 3 for ideas. You can do what ever with the notebook! ~Beg your parents(or buy one yourself) for an iPod touch. They’re so handy, and Im able to write on mine and play my NCIS game. ~If your fingers get cold when you write or type, well fingerless gloves will do the trick. ~Hurrah for the computer, outlining made easy using different programs! ~Surf face book or twitter if you cant see from someones point of view, youll almost always find a person that has the same point of view has your character on their! ~Write for AT LEAST 30 minutes a day, so you wont get writers block. ~ If you have writers block do this simple exercise : Write a page or 2 with your eyes shut. ~When your stuck, but have an idea; outline! ~Paint pictures with your writing, not a paintbrush ~Write about what you know or even want to know ~Use the correct tense, I mean really it’snt that hard. It annoys many people when they read your writing. ~Post some of your stories on watt pad! I’ve an account on there. ~If you cant write or think. . .then edit. ~Visit websites if you cant write!! ~Use your time wisely by using Write or Die, if you plan carefully then youll get in way to many words to count! **Youll have to put it on the meanest settings for best results** ~If youre writing about something that you dont know the research it or youll end up with a bad book, NOT good!! ~Love your writing, even if it really sucks youre going have to love it one day or another. ~Dont drink caffeine filled drinks, it gives you energy but then slows you down a bunch. If you have the time can you answer mine: ?

What are good writing tips on how to write with more details and just how to write books? Writing details should be more than just what a reader might 'see', but also what they hear, feel, smell, and even taste. Describe emotion, use of metaphor, and weaving a story with a main as well as minor conflicts help flush out a story for readers. Consider checking with your local college for writing classes. There are some online as well.
